Every Friday, we’re sharing a newly released song or album from one of our favorite artists and how they used an iZotope product on it.
This week features Merrill Garbus (Tune-Yards), who used iZotope products—Nectar 2 in particular—all over her new album, I can feel you creep into my private life (released January 19, 2018 on 4AD).
“We had a running joke about needing to have an iZotope plug-in on every song on the album! We often used Nectar for an all-in-one EQ, compressor, limiter…it’s so powerful. I’m not usually one for using pitch correction, but we messed around with that to create some effects that I hadn’t been able to achieve otherwise (like a doubled lower octave with a really unique delay on the track “Private Life.”)” —Merrill Garbus, Tune-Yards
